According to the 2024 Census of Population (POPCEN 2024) conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Barangay Libertad remains the most populous barangay in Butuan City with 24,880 residents as of July 1, 2024. Previous census data show that since 1990, Barangay Libertad has consistently ranked as Butuan’s largest barangay in terms of population. In the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (CPH 2020), it recorded 25,296 residents, indicating a slight decline of 416 persons over the
