Microsoft Publisher and Microsoft Word may be Office Suite bosom buddies, but that doesn't guarantee flawless interaction between the two when you want to open a saved document in the other program.
Microsoft had recently announced that it will be retiring Publisher and that Publisher will no longer be supported after October 2026. At that point, Publisher will also be removed from Microsoft 365.
